Children from Tillington Manor Primary School have recently visited Adlington’s new retirement living development on Eccleshall Road, Stafford to bury a time capsule within the landscaped gardens.
30, year three pupils, aged seven and eight, drew pictures of themselves and wrote a little profile, alongside drawings and photographs of the local area, plus information about what it has been like to live in Stafford at this current time.
They then donned hard hats and hi-vis jackets on 11th January and joined the Adlington team to bury the capsule on site; a little piece of history for whoever finds it in the future. Libby Shelley was exceptionally excited to take part and visit her father’s current place of work as an electrician.
Claire Reede, Marketing Manager for Adlington, commented: “It was great to have the children from Tillington Manor Primary School visit our new Stafford development. We are always keen to work with the communities in which we build, and I think it’s a really exciting prospect knowing that future generations could discover the capsule and gain an insight into the local area as we see it today.”
Mrs Brian, Teacher at Tillington Manor Primary School, added: “The children felt very privileged to be asked to contribute to the time capsule project with Adlington. They really enjoyed collecting the items, taking photographs, along with drawing and writing stories about Stafford and themselves. It was a fun and exciting project for them, helping them to learn more about the town and its history.”
Adlington’s £11m luxury retirement development, exclusively for the over 65s, on Eccleshall Road, Stafford will consist of 55 superbly appointed one, two and three bedroom apartments, most with walk on balconies or patios. Lavish communal areas are also available in abundance at Brooklands House, with a table service restaurant, spa therapy room, and arts and crafts suite. Although privacy is paramount, Adlington apartments also offer on site 24-hour care supplied by MHA (Methodist Homes) and a community on homeowners’ doorsteps, should they ever wish for it. The development is due to be completed in March, although people are urged to act quick as over 75% of the apartments have already been reserved to date. Show apartments are available to view daily, between 10am and 5pm.
