WhatHouse? Gold award winning developer, Adlington, reached new heights last week as a towering 27 metre high crane arrived at The Bridges; their most recent development of 64 luxury retirement apartments, situated on Buxton Road, Macclesfield.

The crane, which took two days to erect and is designed to lift a staggering three tonnes at 56m out, will assist in the construction of the one, two and three bedroomed apartments exclusively for those over the age of 60, and will be in situ until spring 2019 when The Bridges is set to complete.

Claire Reede, Adlington Marketing Manager comments: “we are proud to complement the picturesque Macclesfield canal by replacing the old MOT centre with The Bridges, our most recent and sympathetically designed building.  It’s clear that people are also aware of the sheer beauty of the site, as we have had many enquiries and expressions of interest already.”

Each luxury apartment at the new Macclesfield development will include high-spec integrated kitchen appliances all at easy to reach heights, lavish décor including fully fitted carpets, alongside accessible yet luxurious bathroom facilities. For that all-important outside space, most will have a balcony or patio area overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens – or the tranquil banks of the canal.

Although independent living is paramount, a bustling community is also prevalent at each of Adlington’s developments. Residents are invited to enjoy complimentary tea or coffee in the elegant homeowners’ lounge each day, or a three-course meal in the table service restaurant for around just £3. In addition, there will be a hairdressing salon, a spa and therapy facility, activities and crafts room, plus a guest suite equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite for visiting friends and family.

The real point of difference with Adlington is the option of 24-hour on site support should anyone ever need it, and for that added peace of mind, there will be a sophisticated emergency call system throughout the building and grounds, plus a security video entry facility within each apartment.
