Gold award winning developer, Adlington, has announced that it will be building 57 luxury retirement apartments in Leek, creating over 25 jobs in the Staffordshire Moorlands region.
Adlington, a Congleton based company of over 30 years, have received Planning Approval for their recent development and work is due to start at the former Compton Mill, a short distance from the town centre, in January 2018.
The old silk mill, which was originally built in the late 19th century, used to manufacture the country’s market-leading brand, Moorcroft Knitwear. Adlington will now take those outstanding levels of design forward in their luxurious retirement dwellings and wish to sympathetically retain the historic building’s tower.
Claire Reede, Adlington Marketing Manager commented: “The business continues to grow from strength to strength, and our recent Gold Award win for Best Retirement Development at The WhatHouse? Awards 2017 – UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event – is testament to all our efforts.”
“To now bring our elegant retirement living apartments, with the option of 24-hour care to the people of Leek and the surrounding areas, just feels great. Our apartments are ideal for those looking to downsize and we pride ourselves in helping purchasers every step of the way; from helping to sell their original property, de-cluttering and removals, to a complimentary handyman service when they move in.”
The development of spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments will feature prestigious facilities including a table service restaurant, well-appointed homeowners’ lounge, hairdressing salon, activities and crafts room, spa suite and tranquil landscaped gardens. Furthermore flexible 24-hour on site care and support will be available, should it be needed, from specialist care providers offering complete reassurance and peace of mind.
