Of course, part of the quality of life at our independent living communities is that homeowners choose entirely how to spend time – so our events are available as and when you please.
Regular Activities
Perhaps you like the idea of a ‘knit and natter’ for a few hours, or would prefer a regular game of Bridge, Whist or Othello. From board games to book club, you’re sure to find like-minded neighbours to join you in the dedicated activities studio or homeowners lounge.
Card games, crossword puzzles, get-togethers and other indoor activities are great ways to make friends in the community, keep the mind sharp and stay social. Spending time with family, friends or other homeowners has a really positive impact on lifestyle, and our team regularly refresh the schedule of events and activities for homeowners to get involved in.
Gardening
Most of our communities have a gardening club with dedicated raised planting beds where homeowners can plant and grow their own fruit, herbs, vegetables, and flowers. We provide a handy potting shed to store tools and equipment.
Whether you’re thinking about gaining new skills in the great outdoors or are already green-fingered, finding creative ways to get some fresh air and stay active is easy with our gardening activities.
Special Events
Talks and special events are organised on a monthly basis. Homeowners enjoy talks and events with special guest speakers, authors and performers. Indulge your interests or learn something new with our regular programme of exciting speakers.
Past events have included a jazz night, a summer BBQ, murder mystery evenings, bake-offs, wine tasting, a ‘Jive Time’, and afternoon tea. We’ve even hosted the Jacobsbury Summer Festival where homeowners, friends and family enjoyed live performances from ABBA, Elton John and Blondie tribute acts.
