The Cottons welcomes Air Born author
Homeowners at The Cottons in Ramsbottom welcomed a local author last...
This week Adlington invited children from Puss Bank School and Nursery in Macclesfield to swap their books for hard hats, and visit the site of its new retirement development, The Bridges, which is currently under construction.
At the site, which borders Buxton Road, the children were kitted out in hi-vis jackets and hard hats to learn about health and safety, as well as the potential dangers associated with a working construction area. Shortly before breaking up for the summer, Simon Pallent, Site Manager of The Bridges, gave the twenty eight children a tour of the site, as well as highlighting the risks.
Mr Loxham, teacher at Puss Bank School and Nursery, said: “This trip has come at the perfect time for the children, with the end of term just around the corner. The children will be venturing out with friends and so it is essential they understand the potential risks associated with straying on to a construction site, which can so often look like an attractive play area.”
Simon said: “Allowing the children to see what a building site looks like and letting them view the machinery, will help them understand the risks. As a developer, forging links with the local community is very important and we were pleased to have been able to involve a local school.”
The new development will feature one, two and three-bedroom apartments and is perfectly located, with shops, amenities and transport within easy walking distance.
In addition to the luxury-private accommodation and care packages designed to meet individual needs, homeowners will enjoy an on-site table service restaurant, communal lounge, activity studio, spa suite, hairdressing salon, guest suite and beautifully landscaped gardens.
