Homeowners at The Newells celebrate the community’s one-year anniversary. Since opening...
Last week, the Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Gail Smith, officially opened Jacobs Gate, a brand-new retirement community on Troutbeck Road in Sheffield.
The grand opening of Adlington Retirement Living’s 65 stylish age-exclusive apartments was celebrated with a sparkling reception in the beautifully appointed restaurant and lounge.
The Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Gail Smith, who joined new homeowners, potential purchasers and the on-site team to mark the occasion, commented: “I was delighted to be asked to officially open Jacobs Gate. It’s a wonderful new development which has a real sense of community. Homeowners can enjoy the privacy of their own home in their spacious apartments, and they also have access to a restaurant, lounge and beautifully landscaped gardens. I enjoyed meeting with so many happy homeowners.”
Jon Shepherd, Director at Adlington Retirement Living, added “It was a pleasure to welcome The Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Gail Smith, to our brand-new Adlington Retirement Living community. Adlington’s vision is to empower our older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with active communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes, providing an opportunity to enjoy retirement with a new perspective.”
Jacobs Gate, an Adlington retirement community specially designed for those over the age of 65, welcomed its first homeowners in December 2020 and many of the apartments are already occupied.
A range of one, two and three bedroom apartments include quality fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, many feature en-suite shower rooms and separate bathrooms and most have walk on balconies or a patio area overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.
The communal facilities on offer include a hairdressing salon, therapy suite and activities studio. A guest suite, equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite, is also available for visiting friends and family.
The 24-hour on-site support team provide homeowners with added peace of mind and, if needed, the option of tailored personal care. In addition to this, there is a sophisticated emergency call system as well as a security video entry to manage access.
Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
