The latest Great British Retirement Index places Stockport and Sheffield amongst the top ten places to retire in the UK.
The experts behind the index considered the average savings when downsizing; the availability of amenities such as parks, population size, cafes per 100,000 people, access to clubs and fitness facilities and crime rates across the country. Stockport and Sheffield were both featured in the top 10, scoring particularly highly for the number of parks and cafes, and the low crime rate.
Current Adlington communities include The Chimes in Cheadle, The Folds in Romiley, The Woodlands in Heaton Mersey and Jacobs Gate in Sheffield.
