The Newells Celebrates Its One-year Anniversary
Homeowners at The Newells celebrate the community’s one-year anniversary. Since opening...
Homeowners at a retirement community in Southport enjoyed an afternoon of traditional jive dance and nostalgia from the 1940s last week.
The John Wallace Jive Ensemble dressed in vintage clothing and entertained homeowners and guests at The Sailings on Alexandra Road with a dance demonstration, wartime songs and a music quiz.
The winners of the quiz were treated to a luxury picnic hamper, afternoon tea in the restaurant at The Sailings, a massage treatment in the on-site Therapy Suite and a complimentary treatment in the Hairdressing Salon at The Sailings.
Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “Our Jive Time event was a resounding success and very popular with our homeowners and guests. The John Wallace Jive Ensemble put on a fantastic show and soon had everybody on their feet joining in, and our on-site chef provided a beautiful afternoon tea.”
John Wallace added: “We thoroughly enjoyed performing for the homeowners at The Sailings and were really pleased to have so many join us on the dancefloor.”
The Sailings offers a selection of 55 beautiful, privately owned retirement apartments, in a safe and secure environment. The jive event is just one of many regular events and activities that take place as part of the thriving community. Homeowners can also enjoy the privacy of their own peaceful and spacious apartment and spend time in the leafy gardens, which are maintained by an expert team of gardeners.
Four of Adlington Retirement Living’s communities have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development in the UK at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley won the Silver Award in 2020, as did The Bridges in Macclesfield in 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
